The Barnets is a country house, between Barnets Wood and Mounton Brook. 

We have a large wildlife-friendly garden with a pond, and many birdfeeders attracting all sorts of birds. Visitors from the woods include foxes, badgers and squirrels, and we hear owls at night. 

The Barnets is a peaceful haven in this frenetic world, and yet it is only five minutes drive from the centre of Chepstow

The spacious bedroom and sitting area

On the ground floor, with large sitting area with TV, plus tea and coffee making facilities, and its own shower room. 

The room can be used as a single, double or family room. Patio doors open on to a garden patio with garden furniture.

Mounton is a pretty little village set in a wooded valley on the edge of Chepstow. It has a charming medieval church, and was a stopping-off point for medieval monks travelling to Tintern Abbey. 

At one time it was apparently known as “Monks Rest” which developed into “Mounton”.  The Mounton valley is between Barnets Wood and St Pierre Wood. Mounton Brook meanders through the valley where there is an abundance of wildlife, and lots of lovely woodland walks.

Deposit of 50% on booking please, and the balance on arrival. Payment by cash, or by cheque with a valid cheque guarantee card.
